Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band to perform in sa国际传媒官网网页入口
Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band will bring classic and new music to the Kiva Auditorium on Monday.
Starr said he and his band will play songs that fans know and love, including 鈥淟ittle Help鈥 and 鈥淥ctopus's Garden.鈥 The whole idea behind All Starrs is to play songs fans recognize, he said.
鈥淚 used to call the All Starrs the best 1-800 band in the land,鈥 the former member of the Beatles added in an email interview with the Journal.
Recently, Starr did his first-ever duet with fellow Beatle, Paul McCartney. The song 鈥淗ome to Us鈥 is out now and part of McCartney鈥檚 solo album, 鈥淭he Boys of Dungeon Lane.鈥
Starr said that McCartney sent him the track to sing alongside. And when he sent it back, McCartney loved it, and it became the duet.
鈥淚t鈥檚 always great playing with Paul,鈥 Starr said.
If Starr were to give advice to his younger self and to others in the business, it would be to find musicians and play together as much as possible, he said.
On Tuesday, April 24, he released a new country album, 鈥淟ong Long Road.鈥 Some of the new songs will appear in the show, he said, such as 鈥淐hoose Love.鈥
The album was produced by T Bone Burnett, with whom Starr worked on his 2025 album 鈥淟ook Up.鈥 He and Burnett began working together when Burnett sent him a song that took Starr by surprise.
鈥淚 was doing mostly pop rock, so when I got it, I wasn't expecting it to be a country song 鈥 but, of course, it was,鈥 Starr said, 鈥渁nd it was one of the most beautiful songs I'd ever heard.鈥
Starr has loved country music since he was young and almost immigrated to Texas to be near country blues singer Lightnin' Hopkins. In the end, he did not immigrate because there was too much paperwork, he said.
The partnership with Burnett, Starr said, was not planned but just sort of happened, and he loved how it all came together in the end.
鈥淚 love how sometimes life gives you these moments to make a right turn, and this was one of those right turns,鈥 Starr said.
