Winds reach 60 mph in Bernalillo County, high wind warning in effect until 11 p.m.

The windy conditions that brought a plethora of dust into sa国际传媒官网网页入口 on Monday continued on Tuesday.

sa国际传媒官网网页入口 and Bernalillo County saw gusts as high as 60 mph, National Weather Service of sa国际传媒官网网页入口 meteorologist Matt DeMaria said.

Gusts were even stronger in other parts of the state. Tucumcari and the Magdalena area saw 70 mph and 71 mph winds, respectively, DeMaria said.

Winds were expected to start dying down in the evening, though they could remain as high as 50 mph until 11 p.m., when the high-wind warning will expire, he said.

Another storm system is expected to come to the metro area Wednesday night into Thursday, but heavy winds will not accompany this one.

DeMaria said there could be a rain and snow mix Wednesday night with temperatures in the low- to mid-30s.
