sa国际传媒官网网页入口鈥檚 Ty Miller realized a long-cherished dream Tuesday night, earning a UFC contract with an impressive victory over New York鈥檚 Jimmy Drago on Dana White鈥檚 Contender Series at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Miller, 4 inches taller than his rugged opponent, used his superior length, reach and boxing skills to get a unanimous verdict (30-27) from the judges.

He also got the verdict he wanted from White, the UFC鈥檚 president, who after Tuesday鈥檚 event gave the Sandia High School graduate what he鈥檇 come for.

鈥淵ou have no idea how long I鈥檝e waited for this moment,鈥 Miller (6-0) said after learning he鈥檇 been given the contract. 鈥淚鈥檝e been dreaming (about) it since I was 8 years old. It鈥檚 a surreal moment.鈥

Of the fight itself, he said, the game plan he鈥檇 formulated with his team at sa国际传媒官网网页入口鈥檚 FIT-NHB gym worked to near-perfection 鈥 other than the powerful leg kicks from Drago (7-3) that had Miller on crutches afterward.

鈥淚 knew if I kept my distance, used my volume, picked him apart from the outside, I would win,鈥 he said.

Miller credited his father, as well as his team at FIT-NHB, for what he accomplished on Tuesday.

鈥淢y dad showed me a lot of the fundamentals,鈥 he said, 鈥渁nd then he pointed me towards FIT-NHB. 鈥 They transformed me, man. They made me who I am today.鈥

Miller enters the UFC ranks at welterweight (170 pounds), joining his FIT-NHB teammate Tim Means.
