JOURNAL: What about coach Eric Olen鈥檚 system made you want to play for the UNM Lobos?

VAHLBERG FASASI: During my recruitment, fit was my main priority and talking to Olen and the staff, it seems like they value a lot of what I do. I think the versatile and unselfish style of play is perfect for me. On the defensive end I鈥檝e played in similar systems before and I like the aggressive identity we have. I鈥檓 also excited to be at a place where everyone is passionate about basketball and wants to be pros.

VAHLBERG FASASI: I鈥檓 a versatile player. I think I can do a little bit of everything on both ends. I鈥檓 also unselfish and like to pass and see the ball move. I don鈥檛 know who my comp would be, but I like watching Franz Wagner and Jalen Williams.

JOURNAL: How well do you know fellow Swede and former Lobo Sebastian Forsling? Have you guys played together? Did you know he was a fan favorite with the Lobos?

VAHLBERG FASASI: Sebastian is a friend. We were roommates a few years back when we were at a national team camp. That was the only time I got to play with him. I didn鈥檛 know that he was a fan favorite but he鈥檚 great so I can see why.
