Reserve junior college forward announces commitment to Lobos
6-9 forward AJ Pierre-Jerome started eight games for Butler Community College in Kansas
A.J. Pierre-Jerome, a backup junior college forward, announced Monday he will be a Lobo.
The 6-foot-9 forward from East Orange, New Jersey averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 35 games (eight starts) this past season at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas.
Pierre-Jerome will add practice depth in the frontcourt to a Lobo roster that will likely have another player announce his commitment this week.
UNM now has 11 players signed and/or committed to the 2026-27 roster.
Lobos basketball coach Eric Olen said last week, but before Pierre-Jerome made his announcement public, that he expects all Lobos to be on campus at the start of June for the start of summer practices.
Before his two years at Butler CC, Pierre had played multiple seasons with national prep school powerhouse Monte Verde Academy in Florida, though not on the same national showcase team with the likes of Cooper Flagg, Liam McNeeley and Derik Queen, who were there at the same time.
Committed!!!
