Latin American convention to take place later this month, early August, at sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Convention Center
The League of United Latin American Citizens is hosting its annual convention in sa国际传媒官网网页入口 later this month and through early August, according to a news release.
The convention, its 94th since the organization鈥檚 existence, will take place July 31 to Aug. 5 at the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Convention Center and has a focus on 鈥 the power of knowledge and the importance of community, and unity to pursue and attain social and economic justice for the country鈥檚 booming U.S. Hispanic community,鈥 the news release stated.
The convention will feature guest speakers and workshops that will touch on jobs, education and a variety of other topics relevant to Latinos in New Mexico. The four-day event, themed 鈥淪aber es Poder,鈥 will be headlined by sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Mayor Tim Keller and New Mexico Attorney General Ra煤l Torrez, who are slated to speak on day one of the convention.
鈥淣ew Mexico represents the future of our country as the first minority-majority state, with nearly 100% Hispanic representation in the state Legislature and an increasingly younger population,鈥 LULAC President Domingo Garcia said in a statement.
