Moments of connection: Lee Brice continues to make an impact in country music, headlines Music Fiesta
When Lee Brice is at home, his work consists of working on the farm.
鈥淭here鈥檚 always work to be done,鈥 he says. 鈥淚 try to make each moment count when I鈥檓 off the road.鈥
This is exactly the reason the country singer has built himself a recording studio within his property.
It鈥檚 become a place where he can work anytime of day, as well as being available for husband and dad duties.
鈥淚鈥檓 always working on new music and when I finish a brand new record, I start to write another one,鈥 Brice says.
Brice will headline this year鈥檚 Music Fiesta at the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 International Balloon Fiesta. The event begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.
Opening the event will be New Mexico-based artist Brandon Saiz and then Runaway June will take the stage before Brice.
During this year鈥檚 Balloon Fiesta, there will be an annular solar eclipse the morning of Saturday, Oct. 14.
Brice didn鈥檛 realize that he would be front and center for the event.
鈥淚鈥檝e never been to Balloon Fiesta or performed there before,鈥 he says. 鈥淚t was already special. Then you add in the eclipse, and it鈥檚 going to be even more magical.鈥
The 44-year-old country singer has worked hard since he began performing professionally in 2007.
He鈥檚 released five albums with Curb Records 鈥 鈥淟ove Like Crazy,鈥 鈥淗ard to Love,鈥 鈥淚 Don鈥檛 Dance,鈥 鈥淟ee Brice鈥 and 鈥淗ey World.鈥
He has also released 18 singles 鈥 eight of which have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts. Those are 鈥淎 Woman Like You,鈥 鈥淗ard to Love,鈥 鈥淚 Drive Your Truck,鈥 鈥淚 Don鈥檛 Dance,鈥 鈥淩umor,鈥 鈥淚 Hope You鈥檙e Happy Now,鈥 鈥淥ne of Them Girls鈥 and 鈥淢emory I Don鈥檛 Mess With.鈥
Besides his own material, he has also co-written singles for artists like Garth Brooks, Adam Gregory, the Eli Young Band and Tim McGraw.
One of his compositions, Brooks鈥 鈥淢ore Than a Memory,鈥 was the first song ever to debut at No. 1 on the country chart, while the Eli Young Band鈥檚 鈥淐razy Girl鈥 was the Billboard Year-End top country song of 2011.
鈥淚 want to create stuff that lasts forever,鈥 Brice says. 鈥淚 want the songs to resonate with people and become part of their lives.鈥
