A capital time: Over 40 eateries set for Santa Fe Restaurant Week
Fill your stomachs and get a taste of The City Different at Santa Fe Restaurant Week.
The event, running Monday, March 2, through Wednesday, March 11, will feature more than 40 Santa Fe area restaurants with cuisines to suit any palate.
鈥淚t was originally conceived and still is an opportunity to get restaurants together during an otherwise slow time of year,鈥 Michele Ostrove, event founder, said.
During Santa Fe Restaurant Week, participating eateries offer set menus at fixed prices. Diners can view the menus and make reservations at nmrestaurantweek.com.
Ostrove said the event gives diners a chance to try new restaurants.
鈥淚t鈥檚 truly something for every appetite and every budget,鈥 Ostrove said.
The menu prices vary, and some restaurants offer a lunch option. Ostrove said restaurants were strongly encouraged to offer three courses 鈥 an appetizer, main and dessert, with three choices per course.
Restaurants participating include 础濒办脓尘别, Cowgirl BBQ & Smokehouse, Herv茅 Wine Bar and more.
鈥淪anta Fe has a magnetism, culturally, artistically, and it鈥檚 the capital 鈥,鈥 Larry West, event co-organizer, said. 鈥淎ll of those things attract people who like to eat good food.鈥
There is no shortage of diverse food options, Ostrove said.
She said the event features a plethora of cuisines ranging from French to Vietnamese to Indian and, of course, traditional New Mexican.
鈥淭here is no shortage of green chile,鈥 she said.
Ostrove said Santa Fe is unique due to the number of private, locally owned restaurants located in the city.
鈥淚 believe that locals look forward to this event as a chance to socialize, get out of the house (and) try new places,鈥 Ostrove said. 鈥淪o it鈥檚 very much part of the local scene as well.鈥
