AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE

sa国际传媒官网网页入口 author RJ Mirabal will chat about his book 鈥淒ragon Train鈥 at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 bookstore.

鈥淒ragon Train鈥 is the first volume in a trilogy. On Facebook, Mirabal notes that he writes mostly in the genre of 鈥淪outhwest contemporary fantasy, children鈥檚 and young teens.鈥

The third volume, 鈥淒ragon Train War,鈥 won a New Mexico Book Award for Fantasy Novel.

Books on the Bosque is located at 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane NW.

IN TAOS

SOMOS Salon will host an afternoon of readings by four Taos area authors who won or were finalists in the 2025 New Mexico Book Awards.

The event, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, will feature winner Bree Rosenblum鈥檚 book 鈥淎nd: The Tiny Word That Can Transform Your Life鈥 (nonfiction-general); finalist J. Hoolihan Clayton for 鈥淒iscretion is Valor: A Novel of Factual and Grievous History Pertaining to the Ch铆henne and Mescalero Apache鈥; finalist Lise Goett for her poetry collection 鈥淭he Radiant鈥; and finalist Jeffrey M. Hills for his memoir 鈥淢y Brooklyn Bridge.鈥

The SOMOS Salon is located at 108 Civic Plaza Drive in Taos.

ALBUQUERQUE AUTHOR

Glenn Aparicio Parry鈥檚 new book, 鈥淥riginal Love: The Timeless Source of Wholeness,鈥 will be released Friday, Feb. 13. Parry will discuss the book at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Soma Coffee House, 221 New Mexico Highway 165 in Placitas, and 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Universale Church, 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE; and 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Books on the Bosque, 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane NW.

LAS CRUCES AUTHOR

Charmayne Samuelson鈥檚 book 鈥淢ata Ortiz Poetry of the Clay (Poes铆a del Barro)鈥 is the winner of a 2025 Southwest Book Award given by the Border Regional Library Association for scholarship in Southwest culture.

It is a book of photography and poetry in English and Spanish.

Samuelson is a Las Cruces resident.

Author Sherri Burr will discuss and sign copies of 鈥淟iving with Nephew鈥 at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the National Council of Negro Women meeting, Grant Chapel AME Church Fellowship Hall, 7920 Claremont Ave. NE; and 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Martha Liebert Public Library, 124 Calle Malinche, Bernalillo.
