Books on the Bosque hosting four author events this week

AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE

The sa国际传媒官网网页入口 bookstore is hosting four author events this week.

Neal Holtschulte will talk about and sign copies of his book 鈥淭all Boy Sun鈥 at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 17. In the story divorced, alcoholic Sol Linocass dreams of piloting a starship, but his life is headed nowhere fast. All that changes when a chance discovery catapults him into the crosshairs of shadowy spooks and space pirates.

Elan Les Vies will discuss his new novel 鈥淭he Lemon Twist鈥 at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 18. Iris Sailor鈥檚 brutal fall on the ice unravels everything 鈥 her memory, her doping secret and her figure skating career. With an SOS from her estranged sister Sam, Iris traces clues to a northern California cove.

Brian Lee Young鈥檚 first young adult novel, 鈥淪hards of Silence,鈥 bridges the generational gap between a Navajo teenager at an elite prep school and his great-grandmother鈥檚 experience at a federal boarding school for Indigenous students. It is described as a coming-of-age story and a plea for community healing. Young will chat about his book at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19.

Young is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation living in Brooklyn, New York.

G.S. Harrington of sa国际传媒官网网页入口 will talk about her young adult sci-fi novel 鈥淲hat We Have Tamed鈥 at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Work is the only place 16-year-old Alaina can breathe. There she cares for the animals of the ARK Program, awaiting their upcoming journey to Mars. Alaina joins the one-way mission but must navigate secrets, sabotage and questions about human duty to preserve dangerous species.

AT PAGE 1 BOOKS

sa国际传媒官网网页入口 author Suzanne Schneider will sign copies of her private detective series featuring Danny Markham. The series is set in Baltimore in the 1980s.

Page One Books is located in the Mountain Run Shopping Center, 5850 Eubank Blvd. NE, Ste B-41.

AT TEATRO PARAGUAS

Poets Wayne Lee of Santa Fe and Scott Wiggerman of sa国际传媒官网网页入口 will read from their recent work at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Teatro Paraguas.

They will be joined by flutist Windy Dankoff.

Lee鈥檚 collection 鈥淒ining on Salt: Four Seasons of Septets鈥 won the 2026 North American Poetry Book Award. Wiggerman is an organizer of the annual sa国际传媒官网网页入口 poets鈥 Picnic at the Open Space Visitor Center.

The reading is part of the 鈥淧oetry at Paraguas鈥 series. Teatro Paraguas is located at 3205 Calle Marie, Suite B, in Santa Fe.

AT COLLECTED WORKS

Michael Clinton will chat about his book 鈥淟ongevity Nation鈥 at 6 p.m. Friday, May 22. The book provides tools and insights to reshape the second half of our lives in happier, healthier ways. Clinton will be in conversation with Owen Lipstein, owner of Santa Fe Magazine.

Collected Works is located at 202 Galisteo St. in Santa Fe.

AT GERONIMO鈥橲 BOOKS

Ariel Gore is an author who also makes books, zines, coloring books and tarot cards.

At 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23, she will talk about her work, including her most recent book 鈥淩ehearsals for Dying: Digressions on Love and Cancer.鈥

It鈥檚 a memoir about Gore鈥檚 wife鈥檚 experience with metastatic breast cancer, blending personal narrative with research on the disease. 

Geronimo鈥檚 Books is located at 3018 Cielo Court, Suite D, in Santa Fe.

IN TAOS

SOMOS Salon will host two author events this week.

At 6 p.m. Monday, May 18, Indigenous poet Erin Bad Hand will read in honor of her late sister Erika Risa Bad Hand, who was known as the 鈥淪ongbird of Taos.鈥

At 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, performance poet SETH and poet/songwriter Nathan Brown will present their work.
