鈥淚n 1969 I started writing the poems,鈥 Price said in an interview. 鈥淢y late wife, Rini, and I had just gotten married and we realized that Christmas was very special to us.鈥
鈥淭he amazement and the astonishment (of creating poems) came together at one time and at one place.鈥
Price said he began writing single poems for Christmas in 1969. Then for about the past 10 years he had started writing suites of five or six poems instead of just one.
鈥淭hey don鈥檛 seem to stop,鈥 he said.
This year, Price wrote five poems about geodes. The suite is titled 鈥淕eode Universe.鈥
Usually, he said, he writes the Christmas poetry in the summer 鈥渨hen the spirit is alive and well.鈥
