Pulitzer Prize-winning author Andrew Sean Greer to talk at South Broadway Cultural Center

AT THE SOUTH BROADWAY CULTURAL CENTER
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Andrew Sean Greer will talk about his new novel 鈥淰illa Coco鈥 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the South Broadway Cultural Center.
Greer鈥檚 new work of fiction is about a young man who takes a job with a flamboyant, charismatic elderly baroness at her crumbling villa in the Tuscan hills.
Greer will chat with local author Emily Zipps at the event, which is part of 鈥淎 Word with Writers.鈥
Greer鈥檚 novel 鈥淟ess鈥 won the 2018 Pulitzer for Fiction.
Admission is $35 for one person and one copy of 鈥淰illa Coco,鈥 or $42 for two people and one book. Tickets are available in advance at bkwrks.com and, if available, at the door.

AUTHOR IN ALBUQUERQUE AND IN SANTA FE
Deb Haaland, the Democratic nominee for governor of New Mexico, will discuss her new memoir 鈥淎 Voice Like Mine鈥 at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Books on the Bosque, and at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at The Lensic Performing Arts Center.
Haaland, who is from Laguna Pueblo, is the former U.S. secretary of the Interior and is a former U.S. congresswoman.
At the Santa Fe event, Haaland will be in conversation with former sa国际传媒官网网页入口 poet laureate Hakim Bellamy.
She will autograph copies of her book at both locations.
Admission to the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 event is free. Admission to the Santa Fe event is $19-$33 at lensic.org.
Books on the Bosque is located at 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane NW. The Lensic is located at 217 W. San Francisco St. in Santa Fe.
AT GERONIMO鈥橲 BOOKS
Lynn C. Miller will read from and discuss her new novel 鈥淭he Surrogate鈥 at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Santa Fe bookstore.
Miller is also a playwright and an educator. She lives in sa国际传媒官网网页入口.
She will be in conversation with Barbara Rockman.
Geronimo鈥檚 Books is located at 3018 Cielo Court, Suite D in Santa Fe.

The Rio Grande Center for Spiritual Living is hosting 鈥淎uthors Out Loud鈥 in honor of Pride from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 21. The event will feature five sa国际传媒官网网页入口 writers 鈥 Lynn C. Miller, Cynthia Sylvester, Minrose Gwin, Gency Brown and P.J. Sedillo 鈥 in a panel discussion and reception. The event is free.

NEW BOOK
鈥淚f These T-Shirts Could Talk...50 Years of GLBTQ+ in sa国际传媒官网网页入口 1976-2026鈥 is the title of a newly published book by PJ Sedillo.
A press release states the book chronicles one of the most enduring and dynamic Pride celebrations. From its beginnings when 25 people marched on Central Avenue to today鈥檚 multiday festival, the book 鈥渃aptures the heart, struggles and triumphs of the city鈥檚 GLBTQ+ community.鈥
Sedillo is an associate professor and chair of the Special Education/Gifted Department at New Mexico Highlands University.
