APD arrests two suspects connected to July 4 Southeast sa国际传媒官网网页入口 homicide
The sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Police Department has arrested a man and a woman in connection with a July 4 homicide in Southeast sa国际传媒官网网页入口.
Lacey Cormier, 40, and Joseph Griego, 28, were arrested after they allegedly attempted to steal $249.66 worth of items from Walmart on Sunday morning.
They were booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on Sunday. It is unclear if they have an attorney.
APD spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said Cormier and Griego also had arrest warrants tied to the killing of Alfonso Aguilar during a carjacking. A third suspect, Juan Delarosa, was arrested in October and charged with an open count of murder, armed robbery and shooting from a motor vehicle.
Gallegos said that Aguilar told police he was sitting in his vehicle when a man approached him and asked for cigarettes. After Aguilar said no, the man told him to get out of the truck then pulled out a gun. Aguilar said he exited his truck and the man sat in the driver鈥檚 seat. Two other people got into the truck and the man attempted to drive away. Aguilar told police when he grabbed onto the driver鈥檚 door of the truck, he was shot in the chest.
Aguilar was hospitalized and died four days later.
According to a criminal complaint, Cormier and Griego went to Walmart Sunday to steal merchandise, including computer parts, then sell the items either for drug money or for money for Griego to pay for a new driver鈥檚 license.
Cormier and Griego are being charged with first degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit first degree murder, shooting at or from a vehicle, resulting in death, and tampering with evidence.
