New Mexico needs SAM BREGMAN. His opponent did nothing for New Mexico while in Congress. Check out past articles when she tried to run for a second term to Congress. Her ambition to be governor is to add governor to a resume for president. BR
SAM BREGMAN, fire your campaign manager. All he has come up with is that Deb Haaland may have ridden on an Epstein-chartered plane. What are your qualifications for governor? JR
ACCOUNTABLE NM continues to run false ads against Deb Haaland. For the sake of accountability, that PAC has clear ties to the casino/race track industry and Haaland's primary opponent, District Attorney Sam Bregman. I would think the district attorney would condemn false, malicious ads. JP
NEW MEXICO VOTERS have a unique opportunity this election. We now have the most qualified gubernatorial candidate in a long time, and he is a Democrat. I am a Republican. Electing a Republican with the current Legislature gets nothing accomplished. Please cast your ballot for Sam Bregman. RG
I am voting for Haaland for governor. She can do the job the best of any of the candidates. She has the experience and tenacity to get the job done. I do not have confidence in BREGMAN because of his caustic in-your-face demeanor. I don鈥檛 think that helps, it alienates. SW
I know many people do not like Donald Trump, but he is not afraid to answer any questions. DEB HAALAND remains silent. Her ads state she was a single mom, but how does that make her qualified to be the governor of NM? We need and want a leader! KV
Jeff Tucker鈥檚 praise for Sam Bregman鈥檚 intelligence on his feet is welcome. What I鈥檝e not seen noted is Bregman鈥檚 altruism, having taken a huge PAY CUT to give back to our community as district attorney. RM
Without getting too personal, Jeff, I think I see the angle of your dangle. First, get rid of Haaland. You just don't like her politics. But with moderate Democrat Bregman the gubernatorial election becomes a little closer. That's your best shot for local yokel Republicans. MY
Our leaders constantly promise to 鈥渇ight鈥� for us. What message does this send to our children? We tell youth to avoid violence, yet leaders use COMBAT LANGUAGE to promote peace. It鈥檚 like 鈥渒illing for safety.鈥� We don鈥檛 need more fighters; we need peacemakers who lead by example, not aggression. CA
While our elected officials are busy "standing up to Trump," our country is wallowing in CORRUPTION, lawlessness and sedition. God help us because it appears our politicians won't. LM
Regarding 鈥淥PINION: It's time to stop New Mexico's backdoor rulemakers鈥� (May 10 Sunday Journal): Larry Behrens鈥� opinion piece was excellent. I agree that Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham should not hide behind the GREEN ENFORCEMENT BOARD. The Democrats, in this state, yell 鈥淣o Kings,鈥� yet pull these types of shenanigans! JB
32K young people in NM not working or in school is exactly why we need compulsory structured COMMUNITY SERVICE or conscription. Teach these kids a skill and put them to work in their community. Turn them into model citizens before they turn to drugs and crime. Community service now. AH
The brouhaha surrounding MEG WHITMAN鈥橲 failure to make it past the first round of candidates to be interviewed for UNM: The local business community believes she will improve interconnectivity between UNM and the business community. Yet, despite all this fuss, she would not even return a reporter's call. AH
I'd like to see the UNM Board of Regents use RANKED CHOICE VOTING to pick the next university president. It looks like that's the only chance Meg Whitman has. JT
I can鈥檛 even do yard work in my own backyard or take a morning walk and enjoy God鈥檚 beautiful nature without smelling a lovely SKUNK ODOR. It would be nice if I could at least enjoy my own backyard without having to come inside for an odor break. TB
To imply META isn't responsible for their products that are addictive and potentially harmful is absurd. They try everything, including threats and intimidation, to avoid accepting accountability. Sure, parents bear some responsibility for supervising their kids' activities, but they can't watch them 24/7 even if they wanted to. MY
We should all understand that the current chaos in our USA is all due to TRUMP AND THE GOP Congress, corporations and oligarchs. The homeless living in the streets and parks, the unemployed, the juvenile delinquents absent from school is in response to Trump's ICE crackdown on immigrants nationwide. EN
Trump blamed IMMIGRANTS and refugees for America鈥檚 problems. He closed the border and deported millions. Now the results are in. Is your life better? Are your bills lower, your streets safer, your future brighter? AM
Trump's Iran war has cost us $29 billion (incomplete estimate) so far. A no-bid contract to paint the reflecting pool cost $13.1 million. Republicans want $1 billion for his ballroom. At some point you would think even the most brainwashed MAGA FOLLOWERS would have enough of the corruption. Vote Republican! CT
The WHITE HOUSE BALLROOM is being paid for by private donors. The security facility underneath it is funded by taxes. All future presidents will benefit from the added security. CB

Does anyone really believe IRAN was days or weeks away from having a nuclear weapon? What is this war (it's not a "skirmish") really about? An unpopular president trying to protect us from the bad guys? Ha! SS
The Trump administration just rescinded the 2024 PUBLIC LANDS RULE. This means the Bureau of Land Management no longer has to consider protecting the land, but can open up millions of acres in the West for mining, etc. As always, follow the money. JH
A national JUBILEE OF PRAYER, hosted by Christian clergy and government officials only and paid for with tax dollars, will take place Sunday on the National Mall. Organizers admit that non-Christian clergy will not participate because they are celebrating the Christian foundations of America. Anyone remember the First Amendment? AF
