ENTERTAINING BRITISH OPEN on Sunday. Glad to see a lesser-known player use precise shot-making and superior putting to dominate an elite field. Rahm, McIlroy and the big boys did bring some pressure, but at the end of the day they were unable to squeeze the Harman.

THE 鈥淲ORLD CUP鈥 is the soccer tournament that produced 5.4 billion dollars of revenue for FIFA in 2018. The 鈥淲omen鈥檚 World Cup鈥 is the soccer tournament that produced roughly 15% of that revenue for FIFA in 2019. sa国际传媒官网网页入口 editor, please don鈥檛 confuse the two events.

They are both the World Cup, and for numerous reasons (gender, different years) it鈥檚 difficult to confuse the two. That鈥檚 unlike when the College World Series (men鈥檚 baseball) and Women鈥檚 College World Series (WCWS) happen at roughly the same time of each year and deserve distinctive labeling.

A JURY may have found Paul Krebs innocent in the court of law, but he nevertheless is guilty of the careless and questionable handling of public and private dollars, all under the UNM Department of Athletics. That is not surprising as it has been a part of the department鈥檚 culture for years.

PAUL KREBS鈥 puzzling 6 year odyssey: Not guilty. No surprise there for many of UNM鈥檚 fans. But the fans鈥 issues with Krebs were 1.) His running off of UNM football coach Rocky Long (who became the winningest coach in the history of the Mountain West Conference). 2.)The subsequent hiring of Mike Locksley (listed by some as one of the all-time worst hires in college football). 3.) Giving New Mexico State basketball coach Paul Weir a 6 year contract (another buyout disaster). 4.) Not going to bat for the fans vs. the MWC (too many issues to list with a 100-word limit).

MR. KREBS could have saved himself some time on the witness stand; if he wooed potential donors with suites in Lobo Village, tours of The Pit and the Rudy Davios basketball center, between rounds of golf at the South and North courses, both of which the University owns. Dining at the Frontier Restaurant and some Scottish high brow with afternoon tea at the St. James Tea Room. What was this guy thinking?

A GOOD TIME to be a Lobo? Not sure about that. Long-time and respected coaches Rocky Long, Joe Franklin and now Glen Millican have all left UNM for hopeful greener pastures. Minimal excitement around town with the Lobo football team once again picked for last place in the MWC. Walking the city鈥檚 malls to get out of the heat, one rarely sees any people wearing UNM gear 鈥 instead viewing a shirt recently that stated 鈥淵ou Suck鈥 among other oddities. As former Lobo football coach Bob Davie stated: this town is a little bit quirky.
