sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Speak Up! Reader wonders why United and not UNM Athletics?
New Mexico United鈥檚 Amando Moreno shoots and scores past Sacramento鈥檚 Shane Wiedt during United's 3-0 win on Saturday night.
TOO BAD THAT sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Mayor Tim Keller and Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham don鈥檛 have the same enthusiasm regarding UNM athletics as they have for New Mexico United. United is receiving $13.5 million from the state to go toward a new stadium? The last I heard, that鈥檚 more than 3 times the paltry amount that our state contributes annually to UNM athletics, which has much more potential than United to raise the state of New Mexico鈥檚 profile. Instead, during COVID, the Lobo football and men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball teams were banned from playing games in their own city. Quite a disconnect here.

GOOD JOB by Sean Reider with getting a one-on-one interview with MWC commissioner Gloria Nevarez. There was mention in the interview about previous commissioner Craig Thompson. I don鈥檛 recall Thompson ever accommodating the Journal for a one-on-one interview nor the last time he appeared at a UNM game in sa国际传媒官网网页入口. And the new MWC coordinator of officials stated that they are 鈥榞oing to be transparent about everything that we do.鈥 Quite a change in philosophy from the Thompson era where what we often heard regarding controversies were statements that 鈥渢he MWC will have no further comment regarding the matter.鈥

DEAR CORRALES United complainer, had another great time watching the NM United beat Sacramento. The team plays hard. Atmosphere is positive and high energy unlike that anxiety filled, waiting for the implosion, leave early football thats played across the street.
