Danielle Casey to step down as president and CEO of sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Regional Economic Alliance

sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Regional Economic Alliance President and CEO Danielle Casey will depart the organization in August to take over the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance.

The nonprofit known as AREA announced the transition Wednesday afternoon. AREA Senior Vice President Chad Matheson will serve as interim president and CEO upon Casey鈥檚 departure Aug. 1.

Casey starts as president and CEO of the Nevada-based organization on Aug. 25 after five years of leading one of New Mexico鈥檚 prominent economic development agencies, often involved with large-scale expansions.

鈥淪erving AREA has been the greatest professional privilege of my career,鈥 Casey said in a statement. 鈥淭ogether, we have built a stronger, more strategic and more impactful organization poised to support the long-term economic vitality of the greater sa国际传媒官网网页入口 region.鈥

In 2021, Casey helped lead AREA through a rebrand from sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Economic Development Inc. and started its transition from a 501(c)(6) business association to a 501(c) (3) charitable organization. She also helped develop a new strategic plan, bylaws and governance structure for AREA, according to the news release.

AREA鈥檚 board of directors will conduct a national search to permanently fill the president and CEO role. Board Chair Don Tarry described Casey鈥檚 impact on AREA and the region鈥檚 economy as profound.
