One sa国际传媒官网网页入口 resident has the chance to win $250,000 on the Fox game show 鈥淭he Floor.鈥� Only 99 people stand in her way.

Kimberley Chavez is no stranger to game shows. As a child, she grew up watching 鈥淭he Price Is Right鈥� as Bob Barker gifted people cars and vacations.

That love would follow her into her adult years, when in 2016, Chavez would end up starring on the show, winning the Showcase Showdown and furthering her love of game shows.

When she saw 鈥淭he Floor鈥� was hosting open casting calls, Chavez raced to sign up.

鈥淚鈥檓 just a game show fanatic,鈥� Chavez said. 鈥淚鈥檝e been a huge fan of the show 鈥� so I went ahead and filled out the application.鈥�

After being chosen, Chavez was whisked away to Ireland 鈥� where the show films. For a week, she filmed two to three episodes a day, competing against 99 people from across the United States.

鈥淚 had the amazing opportunity to just connect with and meet 99 other people, along with Rob Lowe,鈥� Chavez said.

Every contestant has a category of trivia expertise. Participants go head-to-head and have 45 seconds to identify photos on screen, alternating between the players. The winner absorbs 鈥渢erritory鈥� on 鈥淭he Floor.鈥� The goal is to be the final person standing.

At the end of each episode, scores are tallied and the contestant who has the most territory wins a cash prize of $20,000. The final person standing at the end of the show will win $250,000.

Chavez鈥檚 specialty was toiletries, ranging from lotions and perfumes to other personal hygiene products.

鈥淚鈥檓 pretty high maintenance, so I think casting thought that would be a good category for me.鈥�

Chavez said that viewers at home may not feel the pressure while watching on screen, but it鈥檚 a different story under the bright production lights, watching as each second ticks away.

鈥淚t鈥檚 so different when you鈥檙e playing at home versus when you鈥檙e on that podium,鈥� she said. 鈥淎 lot of people blank out while you鈥檙e sitting there trying to identify whatever is on your screen.鈥�

Regardless of the results, Chavez said she had the opportunity of a lifetime filming and was able to make bonds with people across the country she otherwise would have never met.

鈥淚 think the best part of the experience was connecting with the 99 other people that were on 鈥楾he Floor,鈥欌�� she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 people from all walks of life. I鈥檓 just so glad to be able to connect with them and then just have relationships with all 99 of them moving forward.鈥�
