Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie are taking a trip to the Multiverse. 

鈥淭he Simpsons鈥� and Meow Wolf have teamed up to create a 鈥淢eow Wolf-ified鈥� extended opening sequence for the long-running show. The opening will debut on 鈥淓xtreme Makeover: Homer Edition,鈥� a double episode premiering Wednesday on Disney+.

鈥淕etting the opportunity to be part of the show that has warped our minds since we were kids is a huge honor and an experience we will never forget,鈥� Emily Montoya, co-founder of Meow Wolf and creative director of 鈥淥mega Mart,鈥� said in a press release.

Meow Wolf worked with Matt Selman, showrunner and executive producer of 鈥淭he Simpsons,鈥� and his team. Montoya said it was fantastic, and Selman and his team supported all the crazy ideas that became the final form.

鈥淢eow Wolf started out as a DIY art collective, building installations out of junk scavenged from dumpsters, donated buckets of paint and massive amounts of cardboard,鈥� Montoya said. 鈥淭his project allowed us to get back to those roots and we had a blast revisiting our chaotic improvisational style of collaborative art making.鈥�

Selman said he has been a fan of Meow Wolf since spending hours lost in 鈥淥mega Mart,鈥� which is located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

鈥淎fter losing myself for many, many, many more hours in the Santa Fe and Denver Meow Wolf installations, I dreamed of trying to steal some of their artist-driven conceptual genius for 鈥楾he Simpsons,鈥欌�� he said in a news release.

The opening will include Easter eggs from various locations and a tribute to Meow Wolf鈥檚 late co-founder Matt King. It does not stay confined to the world of 鈥淭he Simpsons鈥� but bursts into the physical world for the iconic couch scene.

鈥淭he brilliant minds at Meow Wolf reimagined the 鈥榗ouch gag鈥� in a way that only they could 鈥� delivering the silliness and surreality and homemade outsider sensibility that has blown so many minds,鈥� Selman said.
