Stricagnoli said he enjoys playing arrangements of famous songs, pulling from rock, pop and classical, as well as his own original compositions.
鈥淭he arrangement of famous songs are a great bridge to connect the audience that wouldn鈥檛 otherwise be interested in acoustic guitar,鈥 Stricagnoli said.
While the well-known songs help forge a connection with his audience, he said that the original compositions describe him and his life.
鈥淥ne of my songs simply talks about going on stage when you鈥檙e not feeling well emotionally, and you need to put aside the negative emotion and focus on doing a great job on stage,鈥 Stricagnoli said. 鈥淎nd another song talks about the death of my grandmother several years ago.鈥
Along with original songs he will play original instruments, including his handcrafted three-neck guitar.
鈥淚t鈥檚 the culmination of all of my experiments throughout the years, they ended up converging in this guitar,鈥 Stricagnoli said, 鈥渨hich is a guitar that was made specifically for me and my way to play. And that鈥檚 why it鈥檚 my favorite, because it鈥檚 the most me.鈥
Stricagnoli will be joined by his wife, singer Meg Pfeiffer, at both shows. He said it has been an adjustment going from a one-man band to playing with her, but they have figured out how to perform together without taking away from one another.
鈥淲e took some of our songs that were also composed for, like an entire band,鈥 Stricagnoli said, 鈥渁nd we managed to create some new arrangements specifically to make each of us sort of express what we do normally.鈥
Stricagnoli said he is most excited to perform Pfeiffer鈥檚 songs, including 鈥淜ill Me鈥 and 鈥淢y Man.鈥
鈥淚t鈥檚 really fun at the end of the solo concert, let鈥檚 say 90 minutes of acoustic solo guitar, to invite her on stage and to finally introduce some voice and some songwriting, and finish with an explosion.鈥
