Stuart Mascair to sign 'A Gradient Into Shadows' at Books on the Bosque

Stuart Mascair, an sa国际传媒官网网页入口 resident, will discuss and sign copies of his latest book, 鈥淎 Gradient Into Shadows,鈥 at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Books on the Bosque. The book is a short story collection of speculative fiction that has 鈥渁 darker tone with a bright glimmer of light.鈥
The bookstore is located at 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane NW.
AT BOOKWORKS
Nasario Garc铆a will discuss and sign copies of two of his books at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Bookworks.
One is his bilingual children鈥檚 book 鈥淐larita鈥檚 Clay Pot/La Olla de Barro de Clarita: A Friendship.鈥 The other is his autobiography, 鈥淏eyond My Adobe Schoolhouse: My Life in Education.鈥
Garc铆a, a Santa Fe resident, is a longtime educator, folklorist and author who was raised in a village on New Mexico鈥檚 Rio Puerco.

AT COLLECTED WORKS
Santa Fe artist John Paul Granillo will be in conversation with Scott Edward Smith, the author and editor of the book 鈥淭he Art and Journey of John Paul Granillo: Inmate #26553051鈥 at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Collected Works.
The book explores the transformative journey of Granillo, who discovered the power of art while incarcerated in a federal prison for 10 years.
His art includes collages, murals and abstract paintings. They鈥檙e accompanied by a narrative about prison becoming a place of self-discovery and healing.
He received the Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce鈥檚 鈥40 Under 40鈥 Award. His work has been shown in the Museum of International Folk Art, El Museo Cultural and in private galleries across the country.
Granillo鈥檚 artwork will hang in the Collected Works Gallery through the end of February.

AT CHATTER NORTH
Joanne Fay Brown of Santa Fe will read from her debut poetry collection 鈥淚ndependence Day鈥 at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Chatter North, a presentation of music and poetry. The event will be held at the Center for Contemporary Arts, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe. Tickets are $5-$17 at or at the door.
IN BERNALILLO
sa国际传媒官网网页入口 author Baker Morrow will talk about and read from his latest book, 鈥淭he Horse on the Sidewalk: Stories鈥 at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Martha Liebert Public Library, 124 Calle Malinche, Bernalillo.
The charming, connected coming-of-age stories take place in sa国际传媒官网网页入口 when Eubank Boulevard was the edge of the Northeast Heights. Morrow remembers the town well 鈥 he was born and raised here.
