Stars of summer
The sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Astronomical Society and the Rio Grande Nature Center are cohosting a star part from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. Planned night viewing includes the gibbous moon, Mars and deep-sky objects. There is a cash only $5 per vehicle fee. The Rio Grande Nature Center, is located at 2901 Candelaria Road NW.
Party time
Head out to Winrock Park for Winrock Fest: End of the Summer Block Party at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1. The free live music event will feature headliners Arkansauce with Lucky Mays opening. The event is free and eventgoers can reserve a spot at . Winrock Park is located at 2100 Louisiana Blvd. NE.
Paws for effect
It鈥檚 鈥淩aining Cats and Dogs鈥 at the Placitas Community Library through Aug. 14. The exhibit features artists from Placitas who created works featuring furry friends. All works are available for purchase, with a percentage of the sales benefiting the library. Placitas Community Library is located at 453 Highway 165 in Placitas, and is open 1-4 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The library is closed Monday and Friday.
West Side finale
Westside Summerfest is coming to Ventana Ranch Community Park from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. The event will feature two stages of live music, with DB Gomez & the Bosque Boys headlining the east stage and Prism B!tch headlining the west stage. Food and business vendors will also be on location. Ventana Ranch Community Park is located at 10000 Universe Blvd. NW.
Night at the museum
Chatter is coming to the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Museum with a concert series inspired by the upcoming 鈥淢odern Art and Politics in Germany 1910-1945.鈥 The group kicks off the Chatter at the Museum series at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, with Arnold Schoenberg鈥檚 String Quartet no. 2 and more. Remembering a hero
The ABQwerty Type Writer Society will be giving a demonstration of mechanical writing in honor of National Ernie Pyle Day at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. The day recognizes the life and legacy of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ernie Pyle, who once called sa国际传媒官网网页入口 home. There will also be displays of Pyle memorabilia. The library is located at 900 Girard Blvd. SE.

The Santa Fe Desert Chorale is performing 鈥淩oots & Rivers鈥 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1. The concert features a world premiere commission by Shawn E.
