A 5-year-old girl last seen leaving Kirtland Elementary School in sa国际传媒官网网页入口 on Tuesday afternoon has been found safe.
The New Mexico State Police made the announcement on its Facebook page Wednesday morning about Kaelani Gonzales, who was last seen leaving the school with her grandmother, Marianne Garnand, 53, in a black SUV without a plate.
Garnand is accused of abducting her granddaughter and State Police said Tuesday they had "reason to believe Kaelani is in danger," the alert said.
It was not clear Wednesday how or where Gonzales was found or whether State Police will recommend charges against Garnand. The agency did not immediately respond to request for comment.
