Jackson-Wink鈥檚 Hokit earns a UFC contract

For the second Tuesday in a row, sa国际传媒官网网页入口 has minted a new UFC fighter.

Heavyweight Josh Hokit, a former Fresno State fullback who now trains as a MMA fighter at sa国际传媒官网网页入口鈥檚 Jackson Wink, defeated Brazil鈥檚 Ghuilherme Uriel by second-round TKO on Dana White鈥檚 Tuesday Contender Series.

At the end of Tuesday鈥檚 show, streamed on espn+, White awarded Hokit a UFC contract.

鈥淚鈥檝e been chewed up and spit out and I continue to find a way,鈥 Hokit said in an interview after being told he鈥檇 earned a UFC contract. 鈥淎nd I will find a way to that UFC gold. Mark my words.鈥

Hokit (6-0) joins sa国际传媒官网网页入口 welterweight Ty Miller as a new UFC contract fighter. White awarded Miller (6-0) a contract on Aug. 12 after his Contender Series victory by unanimous decision over New York鈥檚 Jimmy Drago.

A native of Clovis, California, Hokit鈥檚 not a complete stranger to New Mexico sports fans. He rushed for 70 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown during Fresno State鈥檚 38-0 victory over UNM in Fresno in 2017.
