Texas Roadhouse planning South Valley location

Options for dinner and a movie in the South Valley could soon include shelled peanuts and large rolls accompanied by whipped honey cinnamon butter.
That鈥檚 right 鈥 a new Texas Roadhouse is in the works for sa国际传媒官网网页入口, slated to open near the AMC sa国际传媒官网网页入口 12 movie theater on Las Estancias Way.
News of the American steakhouse chain coming to the South Valley first hit social media when a photo of a liquor license notice for Texas Roadhouse Holdings LLC began circulating on the Facebook group South Valley Pride earlier this month.
The signage pictured in the photo indicated the liquor license application was for 3800 Las Estancias SW, an empty land plot situated in front of the AMC theater and also near Dion's and Chili鈥檚 off Coors Boulevard.
When asked about the location by email, Texas Roadhouse鈥檚 public relations team told the Journal, 鈥淎t this time, we cannot confirm the details for this location.鈥
The signage circulating on social media disappeared as of mid-April, but New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department spokesperson Andrea Brown confirmed to the Journal that the department did receive a liquor license application from Texas Roadhouse Holdings LLC on March 25. She also confirmed that the application was for 3800 Las Estancias SW, and said it was pending preliminary approval as of Thursday.
The location will bring the number of Texas Roadhouse locations in sa国际传媒官网网页入口 to three, with one on the city鈥檚 West Side near Cottonwood Mall and the other in the northeastern part of the city near Cliff鈥檚 Amusement Park. Both are 20 to 30 minutes from the planned South Valley location.
Texas Roadhouse, known for its steaks and classic American sides, opened its first restaurant in 1993. The Kentucky-based chain has since grown to more than 700 locations in 49 states. New Mexico currently has a total of four Texas Roadhouses, with one each in Santa Fe 鈥 which opened in September 鈥 and Las Cruces.
