NM United is getting in the July 4 spirit with new kit
Team unveils festive new uniform — the 4th so far this season — for America's 250th birthday
New Mexico United announced its turquoise third kit in May. A little more than a month later, the club debuted a fourth.
One that fits perfectly with America’s 250th birthday.
United unveiled its “bottle rocket” kit on Friday that features the United States’ colors. The top half of the shirt is blue before transitioning into red with white vertical stripes. The jersey will be paired with blue shorts.
The club will wear its new look July 4 against Oakland Roots SC.
“I love jerseys so any new jersey is good with me,” defender Ousman Jabang said.
There hasn’t been much for Jabang to complain about in that department. Friday marked United’s fourth new kit this season.
The club released its new home look March 5 and away jersey nine days later. The turquoise kit was unveiled May 14.
The turquoise jersey has only made one appearance so far — May 23. New Mexico beat Charleston Battery 1-0 on Kipp Keller’s 89th-minute goal.
